About the position

The Office of U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan, PA-06 is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual to fill the role of Office Administrator in our satellite office located in Reading, Pennsylvania. This part-time position requires the individual to work in-person from Wednesday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As the Office Administrator, you will be responsible for responding to constituent requests for assistance from individuals, businesses, and nonprofits, and resolving issues through inquiries, facilitation, and problem-solving. In this role, you will manage the administrative functions of the office, coordinating with the Office Administrator and Staff Assistants in our Washington DC and West Chester, PA offices. Your responsibilities will include documenting correspondence, answering constituent inquiries, compiling reports, reconciling monthly bills, and maintaining the reception area for walk-in visitors and scheduled meetings. Additionally, you will assist in the coordination of the Military Academy nomination process, process commendation requests, organize and deliver various weekly and monthly reports, maintain office inventory, facilitate the office internship program, and assist district staff and interns as needed. This position is critical to the functioning of a close-knit organization that values public service, attention to detail, and community engagement. Successful candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and the capability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Previous office administration experience is necessary, and proficiency in Spanish is required. An optimistic demeanor and a good sense of humor are advantageous, as are connections to Pennsylvania and the 6th district. Candidates must be reliable and have a keen interest in civics, current events, and community service.
