About the position

As an Office Administrator at Builders FirstSource, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our office. This position is responsible for a variety of general administrative tasks that are essential for maintaining an efficient office environment. You will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring that they are greeted warmly and directed appropriately while adhering to office security protocols. Your responsibilities will include preparing routine correspondence and business-related documents, performing data entry and retrieval functions, and managing incoming and outgoing mail and interoffice communications. In addition to these tasks, you may also be responsible for maintaining office supply inventory and replenishing supplies as needed. You will have the opportunity to arrange meetings and conferences, manage calendars, and make travel reservations for staff. Safety is a priority at Builders FirstSource, and you will be expected to understand and observe all safety procedures to prevent injuries. You may also have the chance to recommend improvements to safety practices based on your observations. This role is dynamic, and while it has a defined set of responsibilities, you may be assigned additional duties as needed to support the team and the organization. Responsibilities

  • Serve as office receptionist, greeting visitors and notifying appropriate staff members while ensuring office security measures are followed.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, office forms, and other business-related documents.
  • Perform data entry and retrieval functions.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and interoffice communications.
  • Manage office supply inventory and replenishment services.
  • Arrange meetings and conferences, maintain calendars, and make travel reservations.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required; recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One (1) year of administrative or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out written or oral instructions with common sense understanding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
