About the position

The Office Administrator at Builders FirstSource is responsible for a variety of general administrative and office operations support activities. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of the office environment. The Office Administrator may serve as the office receptionist, greeting visitors and determining the nature of their business while ensuring that office security measures are adhered to. This position involves preparing routine correspondence, office forms, and other business-related documents, as well as performing data entry and retrieval functions. Additionally, the Office Administrator will handle incoming and outgoing mail and interoffice communications, ensuring that all correspondence is managed efficiently. In this role, the Office Administrator may also be responsible for maintaining office supply inventory and replenishment services, ensuring that the office is well-stocked with necessary supplies. The position may require arranging meetings and conferences, maintaining calendars, and making travel reservations for staff as needed. A critical aspect of this role is understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to oneself or co-workers. The Office Administrator is expected to attend periodic safety meetings and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the office operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One (1) year of administrative or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
