About the position

Sargent is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Scale Operator to join our team. The Scale Operator is responsible for accurately weighing customer trucks as they enter and exit the quarry/plant site. This role serves as the face of our facility, ensuring smooth site operations while maintaining excellent customer service. Additional responsibilities include helping customers with site logistics, enforcing site safety rules, accepting payments, answering phone calls, and assisting with fuel tracking.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh inbound and outbound vehicles using scale software.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication with drivers, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain accurate records of scale operations and ensure factual reporting.
• Assist customers by answering phone calls and providing information about the facility and available materials.
• Direct customers to the appropriate onsite location for requested materials, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of the scale building to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
• Ensure customers are aware of site safety rules and traffic flow procedures.
• Complete additional assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to use basic computer software for scale operations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
