About the position

Senior Helpers of Contra Costa is seeking a friendly and motivated individual with caregiving experience to fill the role of Office Assistant/Caregiver in our San Mateo Office. This position involves providing care to clients as needed while also assisting with various office duties when not in the field. The role offers a unique opportunity for caregivers to gain experience in an office setting while ensuring quality care for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship to clients
  • Perform light housekeeping duties
  • Assist with meal planning and preparations
  • Deliver personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
  • Provide companion care including transportation and meal preparation
  • Remind clients to take their medication
  • Monitor clients with Alzheimer's and Dementia
  • Answer phones and greet visitors in the office
  • Perform data entry and assist with filing and office organization tasks
  • Accept on-call duties as required by the Office Manager
  • Assist the Office Manager in submitting long-term care documents
  • Complete other office duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1 year of caregiver experience
  • Experience working in an office setting or equivalent
  • High school diploma
  • CNA, LVN license or Medical Assistant (MA) preferred
  • Valid driver's license, current insurance, and a vehicle that can accommodate a wheelchair
  • Experience with Alzheimer and Dementia care is a huge plus
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Flexibility with schedule and ability to work occasional weekends

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Dementia and Parkinson's care
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Strong communication skills
