About the position

The Office Assistant position at SSM Health is an administrative role that supports the clinic, department, or program by performing various clerical duties. Responsibilities

  • Greets patients or visitors and answers/screens/routes telephone calls.
  • Files, distributes mail, and performs other general clerical duties.
  • Assists with programs/software for Providers as needed.
  • Assembles and maintains patient charts.
  • Makes copies, answers phones, makes appointments, and maintains records.
  • Maintains office inventory including ordering supplies.
  • Ensures that office equipment is in good working order and requests repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in an administrative role.
