About the position

The Office Assistant position at Cape Cod Community College supports the Registrar's Office by providing essential front desk, phone, and email coverage, along with document processing and customer service. The role requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to effectively manage various administrative tasks and assist students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by communicating professionally with students, faculty, staff, and the public, addressing inquiries and providing accurate information on enrollment and registration.
  • Process course registrations, course withdrawals, residency forms, enrollment verifications, and other documents related to office functions.
  • Cover the registration front desk and phone, serving as the initial point of contact for inquiries related to enrollment and student services.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to support the Registrar's Office, including data entry, mailing correspondence, and maintaining student records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED or HiSET.
  • One year or more of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in office administration or a related field.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service by addressing individual needs promptly and courteously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work calmly and patiently with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree.
  • Experience working with Jenzabar or other student information systems.
  • Bilingual.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $20.00 per hour for up to 18 hours per week.
