The Parish Office Assistant is a part-time role responsible for providing administrative support to the church's staff, including the Parish Administrator, Director of Education, Bookkeeper, and Music Director. This position involves carrying out daily and weekly tasks to assist in the church's mission, with an emphasis on reliability and confidentiality. The role is designed to evolve over time, ideally serving as a long-term support position.

Responsibilities

  • Type, format, and edit routine documents using Microsoft Publisher and Word.
  • Copy, file, and update paper and electronic documents.
  • Use photocopiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
  • Answer phones and receive visitors.
  • Respond to voicemail, e-mail, and phone calls.
  • Perform data entry tasks.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and Word (1 year required).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail (1 year required).
