About the position
The Office Cashier position at Sprankle's Market involves managing the front end of the store, ensuring smooth operations with a team of cashiers. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, overseeing cashier transactions, and maintaining store safety and cleanliness. The position is available for both part-time and full-time schedules, with a pay range of $18 to $20 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Oversee cashier transactions and train newly hired cashiers.
- Assist in shrink awareness and supervise checkout stations.
- Communicate professionally with associates and customers.
- Ensure that the front end of the store runs smoothly without interruption.
- Execute cash management, return, and exchange policies accurately.
- Perform accurate transactions and resolve price disputes.
- Complete cashier-duties chore list.
- File paperwork quickly and accurately.
- Reconcile with 100% accuracy.
- Answer incoming calls at the registers with proper phone etiquette.
- Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, calculator, and computer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years of customer service experience required.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated math skills for cash handling.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to listen actively and respond diplomatically.
Nice-to-haves
- Willingness to train cashiers.
- Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit.
