About the position

Monroe Community College is seeking an Office Clerk II for the Admissions department, a role that requires independent performance of clerical tasks with a high degree of judgment and decision-making. The successful candidate will utilize technology extensively to solve problems and must possess excellent technological skills. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the Office Clerk II will assist students, their families, and college staff. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions and requires flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays as needed. The Office Clerk II will be responsible for providing customer service support, which includes greeting students and visitors at the Admissions Front Desk, scheduling appointments for students with Admissions Counselors and Advisors, and entering prospective student data into the customer relationship management (CRM) system. The role also involves answering incoming calls and responding to inquiries from prospective students and various college departments regarding admissions files. Additionally, the Office Clerk II will process applications both online and in person, and may be required to work some evenings and weekends. In terms of admissions technology, the Office Clerk II will provide application support and troubleshooting, perform data entry, and process outbound communications to various contact types. The role also includes supporting recruitment and enrollment events and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor and appropriate staff. Responsibilities

  • Greet students and visitors at the Admissions Front Desk
  • Schedule appointments for students with Admissions Counselors and/or Advisors
  • Enter prospective student data into customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to questions from prospective students and college departments
  • Provide support to the front desk area and all office visitors
  • Process applications both online and in person
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting
  • Perform data entry import and export
  • Process outbound communication to multiple contact types
  • Support recruitment and enrollment events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Must currently hold the title of Office Clerk II or be reachable on the Civil Service Eligibility list for Office Clerk II
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma
  • Graduation with an Associate's degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university, or two (2) years paid full-time or part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience
