About the position

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Office Clerk to join our team at Safeway in Anchorage, Alaska. This multifaceted role involves handling various administrative tasks while also assisting with basic accounting functions. As an Office Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth office operations and providing excellent customer service. This position is part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our office and supporting the overall goals of Albertsons Companies, a leader in the retail industry.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones
  • Entering customer orders
  • Providing customer service
  • Assisting office staff with other duties as needed
  • Reconciling accounts receivable reports
  • Researching older purchase orders to be completed, invoiced, or paid
  • Preparing and submitting customer invoices
  • Receiving, coding, and submitting payments for posting
  • Researching vendor/invoice discrepancies
  • Sorting, coding, and preparing invoices for payment processing
  • Maintaining vendor files
  • Compiling and posting reports for management
  • Assisting in month-end reporting procedures
  • Updating, verifying, and maintaining accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records
  • Performing filing and general administrative tasks
  • Timely and accurately completing all assigned duties and documentation

Requirements

  • 1-2 years accounting and/or related accounting experience
  • 1-2 years experience in an office setting
  • General knowledge of accounting concepts and account reconciliation
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
  • Team player and team builder
  • Computer proficient; knowledge of Microsoft Systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Strong communication skills; oral and written
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload to complete tasks timely and accurately
  • Strong aptitude with numbers and attention to detail
