About the position

The Office Clerk at Creative Learning Center (CLC) is responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring effective communication with parents and staff. This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in various computer applications. The office clerk will maintain compliance with state licensing standards and ensure the office environment is tidy and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome existing and prospective parents, directing visitors and working with parents.
  • Collect, count, and disburse money, perform basic bookkeeping.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions and address complaints.
  • Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities and business transactions.
  • Complete and mail bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks.
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners.
  • Compute, record, and proofread data and other information.
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems.
  • Open, sort, and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
  • Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information.
  • Deliver messages and run errands.
  • Inventory and order materials, supplies, and services.
  • Complete work schedules, manage calendars, and arrange appointments.
  • Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms.
  • Monitor and direct the work of lower-level clerks.
  • Type, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents.
  • Count, weigh, measure, or organize materials.
  • Train other staff members to perform work activities.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, and record and transcribe minutes.
  • Make travel arrangements for office personnel.
  • Willing to substitute in class as a Caregiver/Teacher.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Pass a background check/fingerprints.
  • State Driver's License or Identification Card.
  • Social Security Card.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience using a copy machine, scanner, and fax.
  • Experience using desktop computers.
  • Experience using multi-line telephone systems.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with competitive hourly wage ($11 - $13 an hour).
