About the position

Alsco Uniforms is seeking a dedicated Office Clerk to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This full-time position is classified as non-exempt and offers a competitive hourly wage of $20. The Office Clerk will report directly to the Office Manager and will be responsible for the daily processing of company business transactions. The role may involve a variety of clerical tasks, including keypunching for routes, filing, and providing customer service. The Office Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring that all office functions are carried out efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the company. In this position, the Office Clerk will be expected to perform essential functions such as accurate and timely computer data entry, maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for reporting, and participating in office training. The role will also involve tasks such as reconciliations, daily deposits, customer master maintenance, daily revenue calculations, and managing various reports related to accounts payable and receivable. The Office Clerk will be responsible for printing and organizing daily paperwork for routes, using a postage meter, and ensuring proper filing of documents. Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely computer data entry.
  • Maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for reporting.
  • Participate in office training and cross-train in office functions.
  • Perform reconciliations, daily deposits, and customer master maintenance.
  • Calculate daily revenue and manage daily branch journal entries.
  • Organize and print daily paperwork for routes and use postage meter.
  • Conduct customer billing and filing tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated good computer experience or ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience with data entry and adding machine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with office equipment and procedures.
