About the position

The Office Clerk will perform essential administrative tasks to support the efficient operations of the organization's human resource and accounting departments. This role involves maintaining confidentiality, providing clerical support, and assisting with various projects and events within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource and accounting files and records.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR and Accounting department.
  • Screens and routes telephone calls.
  • Performs general clerical duties including filing, scanning, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
  • Assists with scheduling and management.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, retirement celebrations, and W-2 distributions.
  • Performs accounts payable ensuring all bills are paid.
  • Performs data entry tasks, managing the office filing system and company correspondence.
  • Collaborates with all departments to ensure all purchases submitted meet the requirements and have the proper approval to proceed with purchases.
  • Provides help when needed with various projects for other departments.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial and business information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Great knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Excel formulas experience required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks desktop and online.
  • Experience in Teams and expertise in office calendar.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions.
