About the position

Waste Connections, Inc. is seeking a friendly and experienced Office Clerk to join our team in Salina, Kansas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer inquiries and providing exceptional service while also handling accounts payable tasks with precision. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as the Office Clerk will be the first point of contact for customers and will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial operations of the company. In the customer service aspect of the role, the Office Clerk will respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism and courtesy. The ability to resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and effectively is essential. The Office Clerk will provide information about services, billing, and account status, assist customers with setting up new accounts, and manage existing accounts. Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions and transactions is also a key responsibility. On the accounts payable side, the Office Clerk will process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments. This includes reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies, as well as maintaining accurate and organized accounts payable records. The Office Clerk will assist in month-end closing processes and prepare reports as needed, collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the team and the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service and accounts payable roles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
