About the position

As a Shop Clerk at U-Haul, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and maintaining the flow of rental equipment that requires maintenance through our repair shops. This position is ideal for organized and motivated individuals who possess strong communication skills and have experience in clerical work. You will work closely with designated Transfer Drivers to ensure that equipment is efficiently routed and scheduled for maintenance. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and correcting reports related to the location of equipment entering and leaving the shop, as well as coordinating the delivery of necessary replacement parts or tools for repairs. You will also be responsible for processing Repair Purchase Orders and collaborating with other team members to proactively maintain the rental fleet. Responsibilities

  • Route and schedule transfer drivers to retrieve rental equipment in need of maintenance.
  • Review, correct and maintain the reporting of the location of equipment entering and leaving the shop.
  • Coordinate the delivery of replacement parts or tools that are needed for repairs.
  • Review and process Repair Purchase Orders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other key team members to proactively maintain the rental fleet.
  • Assist in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional communication skills and eagerness to collaborate with others.
  • Experience in Human Resources and office management.
  • Experience in basic bookkeeping and tracking of financial transactions.
  • Basic mechanical reasoning is a plus.
