About the position
As an Office Engineer for transit rail construction at Jacobs, you will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, and construction management services. This role involves managing project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules to meet client objectives, while working in a field office environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate system access requests and procurement processes.
- Manage materials in the central storage area.
- Monitor contractor safety and quality standards.
- Conduct material testing and review designs.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and track project performance.
- Create change orders and review submittals, RFIs, and other construction documents.
- Identify and address issues observed in the field.
Requirements
- B.S. or B.A. degree in a construction-related technical or engineering field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction, rail, and transit industry.
- Strong applied experience with computer applications and software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice-to-haves
- Proven BART experience.
- Experience using project management software.
- CMAA Certifications: Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Construction Manager In-Training (CMIT).
