About the position

The Interior Designer/Specifier will play a crucial role in an office design firm, focusing on the design and layout of interior spaces with an emphasis on furniture selection and placement. This position involves collaboration with sales teams and management to provide design and specification support for a contract office furniture dealership. The designer will be responsible for space planning, creating specifications, and ensuring the accuracy and professionalism of the design department.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and layout of interior spaces focusing on furniture selection and placement.
• Review projects with sales teams to ensure alignment on design objectives.
• Space planning using AutoCAD to create functional layouts.
• Create 2D and 3D plans along with matching specifications for projects.
• Utilize CAP Studio to create detailed specifications for furniture and materials.
• Select finishes using a variety of materials including furniture, paint, flooring, and lighting.

Requirements

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with 20/20 CAP Studio is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of design experience in a contract furniture dealership is preferred but not required.
