About the position

The Inventory Control Specialist at Admiral Beverage is responsible for compiling and maintaining records of inventory, including full goods and raw materials. This role involves counting stock, posting totals to inventory records, and ensuring accuracy through verification and reporting. The position requires effective communication and mathematical skills to manage inventory data and support the overall operations of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Count full goods and raw materials in stock and post totals to inventory records.
  • Utilize office Personal Computer to compute raw materials received and used, credits, and print variance journals for all products.
  • Compare inventories to office records or compute figures from records such as orders and purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computation or count.
  • Compile information on receipt or disbursement of full goods and raw materials and compute inventory balance, price, and cost.
  • Prepare reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
  • Prepare a list of depleted items and identify breakage, pilferage, and defective or unusable items.
  • Cross-train to provide effective backup for other office administrative tasks.
  • Complete all required food safety and GMP Training and demonstrate compliance on a continual basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in using Personal Computer word processing and spreadsheet software application programs and custom mainframe software programs.
