About the position

Our 25-year-old e-commerce company is growing and we're looking for an experienced Office Manager to lead our existing team of 4-6 customer service staff - as well as help, bring on new talent as we expand. This position will have the full support of senior management who will provide the initial direction and layout of immediate goals. However, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability and initiative to develop their own list of priorities and goals for themselves and their team. We're looking for someone who can not only identify problems but also find and present solutions. We're looking for a strong leader who is quick to learn and understand policies, follows protocol, maintains high expectations, and above all - leads by example. The person in the position will be asked to lead from the front - and will perform the same basic tasks and have the same responsibilities as their team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the existing team of 4-6 customer service staff.
  • Help bring on new talent as the company expands.
  • Identify problems and present solutions.
  • Perform basic office and administrative tasks such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Manage employee scheduling.
  • Oversee office supply inventory and ordering.
  • Schedule appointments for the Director.
  • Ensure stewardship over individual and shared workspaces.
  • Manage and grow the team through audits, evaluations, and feedback.
  • Conduct training and development for team members.
  • Vetting new applicants and scheduling interviews.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or Administrative Assistant.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Experience in employee scheduling and management.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in e-commerce environments.
  • Familiarity with customer service operations.
