About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Special Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various events. This role is crucial in ensuring that all aspects of events run smoothly, from initial concept through to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and events management, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special events, including corporate functions, weddings, and community gatherings.
  • Develop event concepts and themes in collaboration with clients to meet their specific needs.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors such as caterers, decorators, and entertainment providers to secure the best services at competitive rates.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Oversee on-site event logistics, including setup, execution, and breakdown of events.
  • Provide excellent guest services by addressing any issues that arise during events promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with restaurant and hotel staff to ensure seamless service delivery during events.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback for future improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong background in hospitality or events management is essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Proficient negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with service providers.
  • Experience in catering management is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
