About the position

J.M. Knoll is a Business Services Firm that specializes in tax, accounting, and payroll services. We are seeking a full or part-time year-round tax office manager who has experience working in a tax return office and has experience in preparing supporting tax workpapers for a variety of complex individual and businesses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling personal and business tax returns, preparing engagement letters for clients, and e-filing tax extensions and tax returns. This role requires proactive management of database and workflow systems to ensure accurate maintenance of client data, as well as setting up new clients in the software system. The office manager will also respond to client needs on behalf of tax teams as needed, organize and scan client documents, and track and manage tax e-file deadlines. General clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and mailing will also be part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the office manager will schedule client meetings and manage front desk activities, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and directing inquiries. Responsibilities

  • Assemble personal and business tax returns by mail, delivery or electronically
  • Prepare engagement letters for clients
  • E-file tax extensions and tax returns

  • Respond to client needs on behalf of tax teams as needed

Requirements

  • 2-4 year Business or Accounting Degree
  • Proven experience as an office manager in a tax office or similar role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong phone etiquette with the ability to handle inquiries professionally
