About the position

Valley Steel Recycling is looking for a proactive and organized Office Manager to oversee office administration, human resources, and purchasing functions. This role is essential for maintaining efficient operations and supporting the team in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day office activities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary resources are available and functional.
  • Provide administrative support to management and other departments as needed.
  • Handle HR functions including new employee onboarding, attendance tracking, and coordinating employee benefits.
  • Assist with recruitment, including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and performing background checks.
  • Manage employee records and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and purchase supplies, materials, and other resources needed for daily operations.
  • Work with vendors to negotiate contracts and secure the best terms for the company.
  • Track and reconcile invoices, ensuring timely payment and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven experience in office management, HR, or purchasing is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and general office management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary between $45,000 and $50,000, based on experience.
