The Office Manager IV position at the Polk County Board of County Commissioners is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the Polk Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). This position is crucial in managing various operational aspects, including hiring, payroll, and contract requisition operations. The Office Manager will coordinate and schedule TPO Board meetings, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings, and other necessary meetings, ensuring that all administrative tasks are executed efficiently. In addition to administrative duties, the Office Manager will assist the TPO Executive Director in maintaining and updating the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). This includes preparing public notices and legal advertisements for TPO Board meetings and serving as the official custodian of County records. The Office Manager will also be responsible for managerial duties such as hiring, training, counseling, and supervising assigned personnel. This includes delegating tasks, reviewing performance, and addressing citizen inquiries and complaints. The role demands strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interact with customers, employees, and officials. The Office Manager will also be tasked with developing and maintaining operational policies and procedures, preparing budget recommendations, and overseeing fiscal matters related to the division.
