About the position

The Office Manager at Wallace State Community College's Oneonta Campus is responsible for coordinating and overseeing administrative duties within a large division to ensure efficient operations. This role involves greeting students and visitors, managing office supplies, overseeing administrative staff, and supporting instructors with various tasks. The Office Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the office's organization and communication, as well as managing budgets and assisting with project development.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors to the office, answer telephones, and provide appropriate assistance to callers.
  • Organize and maintain an office filing system for the Oneonta Campus Director's Office.
  • Review student files to assure that all eligibility requirements are met and communicate with students regarding any problems to help resolve them.
  • Oversee inventory, including issuing purchase orders and receiving supply deliveries.
  • Assist the Director in project development for SACS, budgets, federal/state grants, and other administrative functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree with 15 semester hours in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience, with one year of experience in postsecondary admissions or financial aid preferred.
  • Knowledge of general office and secretarial operations, basic accounting methods and procedures, and the operations of computers and office machines.
  • Knowledge of both federal and state financial aid programs preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to comprehend and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
