About the position

The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing front office activities, including accounting functions, office requirements, and human resource needs. This role ensures the smooth operation of the office by managing financial records, IT requirements, and HR functions, while also maintaining a professional image and supporting workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain records for accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and labor laws while processing payroll and commissions.
  • File required taxes and forms when due.
  • Purchase, install, and set up new office equipment and maintain IT inventory.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues and coordinate with offsite IT as required.
  • Manage reception areas to ensure effective communication and professional image.
  • Negotiate the purchase and maintenance of office supplies and equipment.
  • Develop consistent personnel policies that comply with regulations and reflect management philosophy.
  • Maintain employee records and manage personnel transactions such as hires and terminations.
  • Recruit, interview, and conduct new employee orientation.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and conduct exit interviews.
  • Establish and maintain a system for job costing and quote review.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting and/or human resources.
  • High degree of comfort with computers and a wide range of software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of current human resource industry best practices and laws.
  • Proficient in Crystal Reports software.
  • Knowledge of general safety best practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable quality standards.
  • Proficient in applicable IQMS software modules.
