About the position
The Receptionist at the Early Learning Center is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, responding to inquiries, and providing information or referrals as needed. This role is essential for maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring efficient communication within the school site.
Responsibilities
- Answer district office telephone system to respond to inquiries, transfer calls, and take messages.
- Distribute items within the site such as mail, special deliveries, packages, and supplies.
- Greet individuals entering the building, including visitors, parents, students, and vendors, and direct them appropriately.
- Maintain reception area materials and files, including newsletters and event calendars, to provide resource information to visitors.
- Maintain building information such as use schedules, staff directories, and emergency contacts for reference.
- Oversee the distribution of mail/packages to staff to ensure delivery to appropriate personnel.
- Perform general clerical functions including scheduling, copying, faxing, data entry, and filing to support office operations.
- Respond to emergency calls to notify appropriate parties about immediate safety and/or security issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fluency and literacy in Spanish and English preferred.
