About the position

The Office Operations Manager I - SES is responsible for overseeing the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program at the Okaloosa County Health Department. This role involves significant supervisory duties, including managing staff performance, ensuring compliance with WIC practices, and coordinating office operations. The incumbent will also handle purchasing, budgeting, and community initiatives related to the WIC program, while maintaining the confidentiality and security of WIC records.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in supervisory responsibilities including communicating, motivating, training, and evaluating employees.
  • Plan and direct employees' work, including hiring, promoting, and disciplining staff.
  • Develop performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Assist program staff with resolving issues related to WIC data collection and benefit issuance.
  • Complete multiple reports for WIC sites and submit them to the state office.
  • Serve as purchasing liaison for the WIC program and track nutritional product orders.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and coordinate vendor management meetings.
  • Lead investigations into allegations of client fraud and program abuse.
  • Act as the lead for the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and maintain inventory of FMNP coupons.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of WIC records and develop a record management system.
  • Oversee community initiatives and activities related to the WIC program.

Requirements

  • 1 year full-time work experience independently performing administrative or office operations functions required.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to collect and sort data and conduct accurate inventories.
  • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage time and organize work assignments effectively.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and speaking English.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in WIC program functions and operations preferred.
