About the position

Wilmington Law firm is seeking a full-time employee for an entry-level position as a Medical Records Clerk and Office Receptionist. The qualified candidate will be responsible for requesting medical records and itemized billing statements from various medical providers. This role involves a variety of clerical tasks including scanning, copying, preparing requests for medical evidence and/or medical billing, and sending and receiving faxed correspondence. The individual will also be responsible for indexing data, following up on outstanding requests for medical documentation, and meeting and greeting clients as well as other parties involved in designated files. Maintaining a clean and presentable workspace is also a key responsibility of this position. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. A persuasive professional demeanor is essential, along with knowledge of computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. The position is primarily clerical in nature and will operate under the direct supervision of multiple Attorneys and Case Managers. The ability to prioritize tasks from multiple departments is crucial for success in this role. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including a one-hour lunch break. The work culture is positive, and the position is available immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Request medical records and itemized billing statements from various medical providers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly accurate document production skills.
