About the position

The Operations Bureau is seeking one (1) Office Technician-Typing (OT-T). Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager III (Bureau Chief), the Office Technician-Typing (OT-T) is responsible for providing a variety of routine and complex clerical support services to Branch staff and direct support to the Bureau Chief. The position requires the incumbent to maintain consistent and regular attendance; good communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively interact with executive leadership, program management staff, employees, and the public; develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignment in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures. The position also serves as a backup to other clerical positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and complex clerical support services to Branch staff.
  • Direct support to the Bureau Chief.
  • Maintain consistent and regular attendance.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership, program management staff, employees, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks and methodologies.
  • Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a backup to other clerical positions.

Requirements

  • Ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications.
  • Obtain a valid typing certificate confirming ability to meet the minimum typing speed prior to being hired.
  • Complete employment history on the application form (STD 678).
  • Submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) along with the application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and adapt to changing assignments and priorities.
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Zoom or other virtual platforms.
