About the position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Baptist Memorial Health Care is a pivotal leadership role responsible for establishing, planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating, and maintaining the standards of nursing practices and operating policies related to patient care activities. This position requires close collaboration with entity Administration and the System Nursing team to meet and support diverse organizational business initiatives and strategies. The CNO will oversee the standardization of nursing systems, identify efficiencies, and provide financial oversight for nursing programs and services. Additionally, the role involves integrating performance improvement strategies and designing strategic nursing business initiatives, processes, and communication plans that support nursing goal attainment while fostering satisfaction among patients, physicians, and employees. The CNO will lead the development, implementation, and improvement of care delivery models and services that enhance care delivery and satisfaction for patients, families, employees, and providers. Upholding the values of the nursing organization, the CNO will ensure compliance with nurse practice acts and regulatory standards while fostering transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability across all areas. The role also includes optimizing resource allocation to support current and future objectives and initiatives, leading a multidisciplinary workforce that provides clinically competent, efficient, and compassionate care in a challenging professional environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree required or a plan to complete within 3 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive, outcome-oriented leadership experience in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of health care issues, trends, legal compliance, and managed care with emphasis on nursing operations.
  • Ability to foster collaborative partnerships in service and program delivery.
