About the position

The Officer-Chief Nursing at Baptist Memorial Health Care is a pivotal leadership role responsible for establishing, planning, directing, coordinating, evaluating, and maintaining the standards of nursing practices and operating policies within the Restorative Care department. This position requires close collaboration with entity Administration and the System Nursing team to meet and support diverse organizational business initiatives and strategies. The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee the standardization of nursing systems, identify efficiencies, and provide financial oversight for nursing programs and services. Additionally, the role involves integrating performance improvement strategies and designing strategic nursing business initiatives, processes, and communication plans that support nursing goal attainment while fostering satisfaction among patients, physicians, and employees. In this role, the Officer-Chief Nursing will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of care delivery models and services that enhance patient and family satisfaction, as well as employee and provider satisfaction. The position promotes the values of the nursing organization and ensures compliance with regulatory and professional standards, fostering transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability across all areas. The Chief Nursing Officer will also enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and administration, optimizing resource allocation to support current and future objectives and initiatives. Leading a multidisciplinary workforce, the Officer-Chief Nursing will ensure the delivery of clinically competent, efficient, and compassionate care in a professionally challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation, and improvement of care delivery models and services that support the continuous enhancement of care delivery and patient/family, employee and provider satisfaction.
  • Promotes the values of the nursing organization and upholds the nurse practice acts abiding by nurses' rights and compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Fosters transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability in all areas.
  • Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services.
  • Optimizes resource allocation to support current and potential objectives and initiatives.
  • Leads a multidisciplinary workforce that provides clinically competent, efficient, and compassionate care and services in a professionally challenging environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required; or plan to complete within 3 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive, outcome-oriented leadership experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of health care issues, trends, legal compliance, and managed care with emphasis in all components and nursing operations.
  • Ability to foster collaborative partnerships in the development, implementation, and administration of service and program delivery.
