About the position

The Security Officer I at Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Wetumpka is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and property. This role involves checking identification for underage patrons, monitoring the gaming floor, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires a high level of engagement with guests and adherence to security protocols, making it essential for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check identification of individuals seeking entry to ensure they are of legal age.
  • Monitor the casino floor for underage patrons and security issues.
  • Maintain focus and concentration amidst distractions.
  • Follow standardized operational procedures for security.
  • Control the distribution of alcoholic beverages on the property.
  • Provide a warm welcome to patrons and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Prepare written reports documenting incidents and actions taken.
  • Transport guests in company vehicles as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required, or currently enrolled in a GED program with completion within six months.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • One year of experience in law enforcement, military, or security required, or one year in a front of house position within Wind Creek.
  • Must pass a basic Security Officer training program with at least an 80% pass rate within 60 days of employment.
  • Must meet and maintain departmental physical fitness standards, including lifting 100 lbs, climbing stairs, and running specific distances within set times.
  • Must complete TIPS training and Title 31 training as required.
  • Basic first aid, CPR, and AED certification required within 60 days of employment.
  • Must pass a job interview, including a guest service audition and report writing exercise.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift.
  • Willing to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License as required for the position.
  • Must have a current State driver's license and an insurable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.
