About the position

USA Wrestling is looking for a Manager to support wrestling officials through the development and implementation of educational programs, recruitment strategies, and performance evaluations. This role requires a deep understanding of the sport and a commitment to fostering positive relationships within the wrestling community. The position is full-time and based in Colorado Springs, CO, focusing on long-term growth and sustainability for wrestling officials.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, monitor, and improve educational materials and coursework for wrestling officials.
  • Collaborate with state associations to develop and deploy programs for recruitment and retention of wrestling officials.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and improve wrestling official evaluation processes, including feedback collection, performance documentation, and deliverance of coaching.
  • Manage officials assignments and resource allocations for USA Wrestling events.
  • Collaborate with USA Wrestling National Teams staff to manage assignments to international events.
  • Act as a liaison for the USA Wrestling National Teams coaching staff on all matters related to officiating.
  • Serve as the United States Wrestling Officials Association (USWOA) liaison for USA Wrestling.
  • Perform administrative duties related to officials support such as facilitating sign-ups and payments to officials, assignments, and travel approval and coordination.
  • Travel to wrestling events to build and maintain relationships, and to facilitate all aspects of the job responsibilities.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by USA Wrestling leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of five years relevant experience in the wrestling community as a wrestler, coach, official, or administrator.
  • Experience as a wrestling official.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, with a focus on excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively in-person, on the phone, via video conference, and via all other communication platforms.
  • Experience dealing with constituents, the public, and/or administrators, including solving problems, in a professional capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain effective in a busy, high-volume work environment.
