The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing electrical engineering assignments related to the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems, specifically for an offshore project involving a TLP (Tension Leg Platform) floating facility. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical distribution systems, particularly those that are turbine-generated, and familiarity with various regulatory bodies such as ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), BNB (Bureau of National Affairs), and USCG (United States Coast Guard). The engineer will work independently to prepare advanced specifications that detail client performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements. In addition to preparing engineering sketches and performing calculations, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications. Effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors is crucial, as is the ability to set realistic expectations and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The engineer will also adhere to company quality standards and health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) regulations, actively participating in hazard identification and reporting unsafe conditions. The role involves site visits to evaluate project requirements and conditions, as well as vendor inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. The engineer will assist in developing internal design guidelines and will be responsible for assessing project feasibility, preparing reports, and managing client relationships to foster repeat business opportunities. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to lead projects effectively, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulations.
