About the position

The Offshore-Network Protection Engineer role involves analyzing business requirements to build scalable security solutions for network protection. The engineer will operationalize these solutions, define security policies, and maintain documentation related to network solutions. The position requires continuous security policy analysis, data analytics for situational awareness, and management of security enhancement projects while engaging with stakeholders to ensure secure business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and provide recommendations for scalable security solutions.
• Build and operationalize solutions to deploy and protect the network.
• Define and configure security policies throughout various network boundaries.
• Create and maintain documentation related to network solutions, including diagrams and design documents.
• Perform continuous security policy analysis to ensure effectiveness of security defenses.
• Develop analytics and analyze data to improve situational awareness and decision-making.
• Assist with the development and operation of infrastructure-as-code and manual change tracking processes.
• Manage small to medium security enhancement and remediation projects.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify business impacts and implement secure solutions.

Requirements

• Technical experience with network solutions, either infrastructure or security related.
• Understanding of network traffic with security controls in mind.
• Foundational knowledge of malware operation and indicators of threat.
• Understanding of network technology and security architecture best practices.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversight.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewall and/or SaSE.
• Experience troubleshooting website and network connectivity issues.
• Experience conducting technical security assessments and implementing policy changes.
• Experience conducting cybersecurity incident investigations and remediating policy gaps.
• Experience with Github Actions for configuration-as-code/infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience performing network traffic analysis via Splunk.
