About the position

This position is for our OH plant that opens July/ August 2025. This will be an opportunity to be part of the initial team to set up our 2nd factory in the US and build Viega's brand in the community. It provides an innovative work environment in one of the most sustainable factories in OH. Comprehensive training will be provided in McPherson, KS, for 6 months with accommodation cost covered. Local housing and transportation will be provided and covered by company during the training period. Details associated with the relocation package, local housing, and transportation, and/or short-term international travel requirements will be defined in the offer letter based on the role if an offer is extended.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the assembly or packing of various products & performing necessary quality tests according to the product specification while ensuring production demands are met.
• Can recognize basic equipment errors and report or perform basic troubleshoot tasks.
• Proficient in all operator 1 job description requirements.
• Operates and controls auxiliary and semiautomatic equipment for production process being performed.
• Ability to assist higher-level operators.
• Uses measuring equipment to ensure all quality specifications are met.
• Assists in the training of lower level operators.
• Operate any material handling and processing equipment required for production.
• Utilize shop floor management system to update CIP boards when necessary.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Ability to run more than one machine while still maintaining required output.
• Visually checks workstations to determine if supplies are getting low; pulls supplies from designated stocking areas.
• Transports materials to and from workstations utilizing necessary material handling equipment.
• Notifies supervisor and/or material handler when supplies are at reorder levels.
• Tests and inspects the produced products to ensure they meet all quality specifications.
• Report when products are outside of the specifications to proper supervision and/or quality personnel.
• Perform non-conforming product procedures when necessary.
• Isolates and/or rework items that do not meet specifications or quality standards.
• Ability to input accurate data into quality control system.
• Participates in 6S activities, workshops, meetings, cross functional training, etc.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic reading, writing and arithmetic.
• Good manual dexterity skills, working with very small parts.
• Ability to perform repetitive functions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, and/or drawings.
• Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with.
• Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.
• High School diploma/equivalent.
• 1-2+ years proficient Operator experience in a manufacturing & industrial environment.
• Able to monitor and perform the operations of the processing equipment for production with minimal supervision or instruction.
• Able to assist other Operators.
• Able to utilize shop floor management system.
• Communicates with process and tooling technicians to help with equipment and assist with root cause analysis pertaining to the production process.
• Able to perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Able to test and inspect produced product to ensure they meet all quality specifications and report what is outside of the specifications to proper supervisor and/or quality personnel.
