About the position

The Ohio Digital Academy (ODA) is seeking an entry-level Data Analyst to join the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) within the Office of Informatics, Data, Epidemiology, and Analytics (IDEA) team. This position is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in data analysis, including SQL, R, SAS, Tableau, and machine learning. Analysts will participate in a four-week intensive training program and are expected to commit to a three-year service with the State of Ohio, during which they will gain hands-on experience and mentorship in the field.

Responsibilities

• Work with business units to identify and document data project requirements.
• Build queries/reports and perform analysis on ODH data.
• Develop data visualizations using Tableau and other business intelligence tools.
• Provide data and analytics support to ODH staff and customers.
• Create technical and business documentation of data products.

Requirements

• Completion of undergraduate or associate core program in computer science or related major.
• Completion of an accredited technical training program (i.e. tech bootcamp) in Information Technology or related field.
• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or associate core program in computer science or related major.
• Current enrollment in an accredited technical training program in Information Technology or related field.
