About the position

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Shop Manager. In this role, you will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service while also managing the daily activities of the shop. As an Assistant Shop Manager, you will have the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills and help guide a team of dedicated employees in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Shop Manager will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing payments, and assuming the responsibilities of the Shop Manager in their absence. You will oversee the shop floor, ensuring that all employees are performing their duties effectively and that every customer leaves satisfied. This position also involves performing essential tasks such as opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and training new employees in the Take 5 way of service. We offer paid training to ensure you are well-equipped to handle the various responsibilities of the role, including oil changes, light maintenance services, and customer interactions. Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
  • Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager's absence
  • Run the floor, ensuring each employee is where they need to be and that every customer is satisfied before they leave
  • Perform opening and closing procedures
  • Assist with counting and adjusting inventory
  • Train new employees to fulfill duties in the Take 5 way
  • Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor
  • Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service or management roles
  • Background in skilled trades or automotive services
