About the position

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) at our location on 2413 West Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX. As an ASM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive top-notch service while also supporting the Shop Manager in daily operations. This position is perfect for those who are people-oriented, driven, and eager to showcase their leadership skills. We value experience, but it is not a requirement; we believe that a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are key to success in this role. In this position, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing payments, and assuming the authority of the Shop Manager in their absence. You will oversee the shop floor, ensuring that each employee is performing their duties effectively and that every customer leaves satisfied. Your responsibilities will also include performing opening and closing procedures, assisting with inventory management, training new employees, and performing light maintenance services such as oil changes and filter replacements. Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
• Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager's absence
• Run the floor, ensuring each employee is where they need to be and that every customer is satisfied before they leave
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory
• Train new employees to fulfill duties in the Take 5 way
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
• Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor
• Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop

• Experience in customer service or management roles
• Background in skilled trades or automotive services
