About the position

The Assistant Shop Manager at Take 5 Oil Change is responsible for providing excellent customer service, overseeing shop operations in the absence of the Shop Manager, and ensuring a smooth workflow among team members. This role offers paid training and opportunities for advancement within the company, making it ideal for individuals looking to grow their careers in the automotive service industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed.
  • Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in their absence.
  • Run the floor, ensuring each employee is in their designated position and that all vehicles are checked thoroughly before customer departure.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the shop.
  • Assist with counting and adjusting inventory levels.
  • Train new employees in the Take 5 way of operations.
  • Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels on the shop floor.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop, office, and bathroom areas.

Requirements

  • No experience needed; leadership qualities are valued.
  • Entry-level position suitable for individuals with under 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit safely.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service or management roles is a plus.
  • Background in skilled trades, retail, or food service may be beneficial.
