About the position

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) at our Fort Lauderdale location. This position is ideal for those who are people-oriented, driven, and possess leadership qualities. As an ASM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service while also managing the daily operations of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager. We pride ourselves on our efficient oil change process, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles while we perform the service. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing shop operations, training new employees, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will also assist in performing various automotive services, including oil changes and light maintenance tasks. Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
  • Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager's absence
  • Run the floor, ensuring each employee is in their designated position and that all vehicles are checked thoroughly
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the shop
  • Assist with counting and adjusting inventory levels
  • Train new employees to fulfill their duties according to the Take 5 standards
  • Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels on the shop floor
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop, office, and bathroom areas

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service or retail is a plus
  • Previous experience in automotive services is beneficial but not required
