About the position

The Assistant Shop Manager at Take 5 Oil Change plays a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service and efficient shop operations. This position involves overseeing daily activities, training new employees, and stepping in for the Shop Manager when needed. The role is designed for individuals who are friendly, energetic, and willing to learn, with opportunities for career advancement within the company.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and process payment for services performed
• Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager in the Shop Manager's absence
• Run the floor, ensuring each employee is in their designated area and that all vehicles are checked properly
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory
• Train new employees to fulfill duties in the Take 5 way
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary
• Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor
• Maintain shop, office, and bathroom cleanliness

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or management roles
• Background in skilled trades or automotive services
