About the position

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a Shop Manager for our location at 1750 Fry Rd, Houston, Texas. As a Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading our team and ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality service. We pride ourselves on our efficient oil change process, which allows customers to stay in their vehicles while we perform the service. With over 35 years in the industry, we have built a reputation for friendly service and expertise. In this position, you will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members. You will also create crew schedules and submit payroll, ensuring that the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. Managing inventory is another key responsibility, which includes conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory, placing product orders, and restocking inventory as necessary. Understanding the shop's financials is essential to drive results and utilize the budget wisely. As a Shop Manager, you will conduct quarterly employee evaluations and support crew members with their duties, which include changing oil and performing other auto services. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service, ensuring that every customer leaves satisfied with their experience. This role offers the opportunity for growth, with the potential to earn up to $55,000 per year, along with bonus opportunities. We provide paid training to ensure you are well-equipped to manage the shop and deliver top-notch service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, & training new crew members
• Creating crew schedules & submitting payroll
• Controlling inventory: Conduct End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
• Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
• Understanding the shop's financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
• Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
• Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
• Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and performing other auto services as necessary
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
• Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
• Must have basic computer operating skills
