About the position

As a Shop Manager at Take 5 Oil Change, you will play a crucial role in leading a team dedicated to providing exceptional oil change services. Whether you have prior experience in management or are looking to step into a leadership role for the first time, Take 5 provides comprehensive paid training to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in managing a shop location effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, which includes recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members. You will also create crew schedules, manage payroll, and control inventory by conducting regular inventory checks and placing product orders as needed. Understanding the shop's financials is essential, as you will be expected to drive results and utilize the budget wisely. Additionally, you will conduct quarterly employee evaluations to ensure that your team is meeting the high standards set by Take 5. Your hands-on approach will involve supporting crew members with their duties, which include changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, and performing other light maintenance services. Providing excellent customer service is a key aspect of this role, as you will be the face of Take 5 to our valued customers. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, and you will be expected to work in various weather conditions while managing a team of technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
  • Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
  • Controlling inventory by conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
  • Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
  • Understanding the shop's financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
  • Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
  • Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
  • Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and performing other auto services as necessary
  • Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
  • Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
  • Must have basic computer operating skills
