About the position

As a Shop Manager at Take 5 Oil Change, you will play a crucial role in leading a team dedicated to providing exceptional oil change services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the shop operates smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the high standards that Take 5 is known for. You will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members, creating crew schedules, and submitting payroll. Additionally, you will control inventory by conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory checks, placing product orders, and restocking inventory as necessary. Understanding the shop's financials will be essential to drive results and utilize the budget wisely. You will also conduct quarterly employee evaluations to ensure that your team is performing at their best. In this role, you will support your crew members with their duties, which include changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling air in tires, and performing other light maintenance services. Providing excellent customer service will be a key aspect of your job, as you will be the face of Take 5 Oil Change to our customers. The position offers a unique opportunity for growth, as many of our successful employees started with no experience in the oil change industry. With paid training provided, you will quickly learn the Take 5 way of managing a shop location and performing essential services. This is a full-time position that requires a commitment to working early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion, depending on the needs of the shop.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
• Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
• Controlling inventory by conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory checks
• Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
• Understanding the shop's financials to drive results and utilize the budget wisely
• Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
• Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
• Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and performing other auto services as necessary
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
• Must have basic computer operating skills
