About the position

The Shop Manager at Take 5 Oil Change is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the oil change shop, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency. This role involves managing a team, training new employees, and maintaining inventory while providing excellent customer service. The position offers opportunities for advancement and is suitable for individuals with or without prior experience in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
• Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
• Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
• Placing product orders and restocking inventory as necessary
• Understanding the shop's financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
• Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
• Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
• Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
• Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
• Must have basic computer operating skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in oil change or automotive services (1 year preferred)
• Customer service experience (1 year preferred)
