About the position

The Oil and Gas Revenue Accounting Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of revenue transactions related to oil and gas sales. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations and company policies while conducting detailed analysis, reconciliations, and reporting of revenue data to support the organization's financial integrity.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and record revenue transactions from oil and gas sales.
• Identify and rectify revenue and joint billing discrepancies.
• Reconcile revenue accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Identify and rectify title issues, suspense accounts, and release of suspended revenue through research.
• Prepare and distribute monthly revenue reports to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure all revenue accounting activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
• Conduct detailed analysis of revenue data to identify trends and variances.
• Work closely with operators to coordinate interest calculations and requirements for curative ownership.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all revenue and transactions and processes.
• Assist in maintaining and improving revenue accounting systems and processes.

Requirements

• Knowledge of legal descriptions and land title documents.
• Knowledge of basic division order concepts, estates, and calculating decimal interests.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in oil and gas revenue accounting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• A degree is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
