The Oil Terminal Operator position is a critical role within a nationwide Oil and Gas company based in San Antonio, TX. This position requires the operator to coordinate, monitor, and operate pumping equipment for Crude Oil and Hazardous Liquid systems, ensuring the safe and uninterrupted delivery of products to designated delivery points. The operator will be responsible for managing various operational parameters, including pumping methods, valve activity, tank levels, and chemical changes, to maintain system efficiency and safety. Operators will monitor tanks, pump stations, and terminals, assessing the operational condition of liquids in and out of pipeline systems, terminals, offload facilities, and production facilities. This role involves coordinating system operations between internal and external customers and field personnel, ensuring effective communication and operational readiness. The operator will also document and maintain maintenance logs for both upcoming and completed projects, ensuring compliance with PHMSA Control Room Management and D.O.T requirements. As essential personnel, Oil Terminal Operators may be required to be on call or complete extended shifts during emergencies or system upsets, often with little notice. The position operates under limited supervision, allowing the operator to exercise authority on a DOT Regulated Pipeline System or Non-Regulated Production & Pipeline Gathering System. Knowledge of pipeline operations, crude oil production, natural gas, hazardous liquids, and terminal operations is essential, along with familiarity with SCADA systems and understanding of cause and effect in piping and instrumentation drawings. The role requires flexibility in working hours, including night and weekend shifts, as the oil terminal must be monitored 24/7, with shifts structured as a 7 on 7 off schedule starting at 7 AM.
