In this role, you will be responsible for performing leak detection and repair (LDAR) on oil wells located in Bakersfield, California, and its surrounding areas. Your work will involve a variety of data collection and evaluation techniques, and you will be tasked with developing and maintaining accurate records. The position often requires the use of complex analyzers, instrumentation, and equipment to gather data and optimize system performance. Responsibilities

  • Perform LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) policies and procedures at assigned oil well sites.
  • Conduct daily analyzer calibration.
  • Complete quarterly certification of analyzers.
  • Coordinate LDAR field activities.
  • Maintain and complete monitoring schedules.
  • Test for leaking components on oil wells.
  • Generate work requests and follow up on LDAR maintenance repairs.
  • Maintain record keeping on monitoring and repairs.

Requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions on the oil field (hot/cold environments, inclement weather).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and walk with a 15 lb.+ backpack for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and/or steel surfaces.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in an industrial setting (fitting, welding, instrumentation, etc.) or refinery operations/maintenance.
  • Experience with LDAR / Fugitive Emission Monitoring (Method 21) and TVA 1000B calibration.
